Jaylynn: Well, vegetarian Thai food will be the same only they will use fake meats, tofu or more vegetables in place of meat. It’s delicious food and probably the most easy cuisine to make vegetarian. You might wanna do a search on this blog for “Thai Food” and that will bring up some good examples for you. Hope your date goes well!

i have a question…im going out on a date to a thai place no clue which one…. what do they usually have for vegetarians? im a new vegetarian…

dr. stonielove: I get them at Whole Foods, they're from a company called "VegeUSA" (http://vegeusa.com/), thought they don't have them listed on their website for some reason. The fake shrimp you see in this post here are from a restaurant so I'm not sure if they are the same brand... they were very good and seem to taste just like the kind I buy.

dr.stonielove: I love love love the faux shrimp. I loved eating real shrimp before I went vegetarian, but even then the idea of shrimp was kind of disgusting, despite my liking the taste and texture. After all, they are dirty little bottom feeders… filthy stuff to put into yourself. Anyhow, these fake one’s capture everything I like about real shrimp (the texture is so realistic!) without the guilt, cholesterol, environmental impact or gross-out factor.
