Another beef recall…

Filed under: Miscellaneous — FoodEater @ 2:46 pm

USDA recalls 143 million pounds of beef from California slaughterhouse under investigation.

And yet, I’m considered a “naive vegetarian”. If not wanting to eat the disease infested flesh of tortured animals makes me naive, I’m perfectly ok with that.

  2. These videos disgust me and anger me to no end. What is wrong with people that they treat animals this way? This is no different than nazi concentration camps, but people don’t care because they think animals are a less important life force than people. Anyone who eats animal meat is contributing to animal cruelty. All animals living in slaughter houses are subjected to animal cruelty. There is no such thing as a humane slaughter house.

  3. DiscoFrisco: I totally agree. I think that the only way people are able to continue living the way they do is by remaining in denial. They don’t want to watch videos like that, they don’t want to know what really goes on in these slaughter facilities, they don’t want to think about the fact that their dietary habits and addictions are part of the problem… they don’t want to think about the fact that their own actions contribute to such misery. Why would they stop to think about it when all they really want is to shove that next 99 cent hamburger down their throat?

It’s horrible that this happened (again), but one would hope that if people see enough of this sort of thing, and perhaps after enough people get sick from tainted meat, they will eventually open their eyes and wake up.
